Hi, I’m Sam Young – husband, dog dad, coach, and founder of Strong For Life. I understand how difficult it can be to balance a demanding lifestyle while trying to stay physically and mentally strong. But with the right guidance, support, and community – it is possible.
Since 2008, I’ve been helping growth-minded people improve their health, strength and confidence through structured, intelligent training. I launched Strong For Life in 2013 to share my passion for strength and weightlifting with others. We’re proud to be Hull and East Yorkshire’s only British Weightlifting affiliated club, offering a dedicated space for people who want to feel stronger, move better, and live longer, healthier lives.
In 2019, we opened our first facility, and in 2022, expanded into a brand new, purpose-built strength training space. Today, we support a thriving community of adults who are ready to take control of their fitness journey in a welcoming, focused, and expert-led environment.

I’ve been involved in sport and physical activity since I was four years old. After studying Sports Science with Management at Loughborough University, I turned my passion into a career, and have spent over 15 years coaching people to feel stronger, healthier, and more capable. My coaching combines evidence-based training, practical lifestyle support, and real-world experience to help you become the best version of yourself – for life.
